Kyiv city health authorities confirmed eight people killed and five wounded. AP later reported at least 12 killed across Kyiv and the surrounding region. Ukrzaliznytsia said a ballistic missile struck a railway depot and other company premises, killing seven people, including six railway workers. Two rail sections were temporarily closed and later reopened.
The morning report's toll of four rose to at least 12. The railway operator also confirmed staff deaths, extensive depot damage and a temporary traffic interruption.

Odesa CHP equipment was damaged and the Orlivka crossing temporarily closed
At 16:28, Naftogaz confirmed that a Russian missile and drone attack damaged main and auxiliary equipment at Odesa CHP. Debris clearance and the technical assessment remain under way. The Odesa regional prosecutor's office said seven men were wounded, four of whom were hospitalized. Ukraine's State Border Guard Service said drones also damaged the Orlivka international ferry crossing on the Romanian border. Passenger and vehicle processing was suspended and traffic redirected to other crossings. Reuters also reported damage to export and port infrastructure.
The Naftogaz update confirmed damage at an energy-generation facility. The prosecutor's office raised the reported number of wounded from one to seven. Authorities also confirmed disruption on a Ukraine-Romania border route and damage to export infrastructure.
The CHP plant's operating condition and repair needs, the crossing reopening time and export delays remain unresolved.
Russia-appointed official says four killed in drone strikes in Luhansk region
Russia-appointed Luhansk regional head Leonid Pasechnik said four people were killed and three wounded in drone strikes in Russian-controlled territory. He said the casualties were in vehicles across several municipalities. Yle added the Reuters-carried report at 16:34. Ukraine did not comment, and the figures have not been independently verified.
The official toll of four made this one of the day's most serious civilian-casualty reports attributed to Ukrainian strikes in Russian-controlled territory.
