US reports strikes on 3 tankers

CENTCOM said it struck 3 Iranian oil tankers on September 5. Iranian state TV acknowledged the strikes and reported crew evacuations. CENTCOM said 2 vessels were permanently disabled and 1 destroyed; the damage assessment is a US claim. Iran claimed retaliation against 3 tankers and 3 US vessels without independent confirmation.

Lebanon revises toll to 4 dead and 32 injured

Lebanon’s Health Ministry on September 5 revised the previous day’s Israeli strike toll to 4 dead and 32 injured, from 3 dead and 23 injured. Gaza hospitals report 17 bodies received in 48 hours

Gaza health authorities said on September 5 that hospitals received 17 bodies in 48 hours: 5 newly killed, 1 person who died of wounds and 11 recovered from rubble. They recorded 27 injured. This is not 17 new deaths in one day. Independent case-by-case verification remains open.

AFP medical source: 6 killed and 7 injured on a bus

A medical source in Taiz told AFP that a September 5 missile strike killed 6 civilians on a bus and injured 7. The bus was travelling between Taiz and Aden. A government official blamed the Houthis; responsibility has not been independently established. These civilians are not combined with either side’s reported combatant losses.
